The Medal of Honor

The Medal of Honor is United States of America's highest military honor, awarded for personal acts of valor above and beyond the call of duty. The medal is awarded by the President of the United States in the name of Congress. Although the medal is sometimes referred to as the Congressional Medal of Honor, the original and official title is the "Medal of Honor". There are three versions of the medal, one for the Army, one for the Navy, and one for the Air Force. Members of the Marine Corps and Coast Guard receive the Navy version. The Medal of Honor is usually presented by the President at the White House in a formal ceremony intended to represent the gratitude of the American people, with posthumous presentations made to the primary next of kin. In 1990, Congress designated March 25 annually as "National Medal of Honor Day". Due to its prestige and status, the Medal of Honor is afforded special protection under U.S. law.

This medal is awarded to the member who is the most dedicated and skilled player ingame.

Awarded to any member of the United States Air Force who has distinguished himself or herself by exceptionally meritorious service to the United States Government in a duty of great responsibility. The medal is typically awarded to senior Air Force Generals. The medal was intended as a new decoration of the United States Air Force to replace the policy of awarding the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Air Force personnel. Until 1955, the official title of the new decoration was Distinguished Service Medal (Air Force). After the Korean War, the medal was referred to by its current name.

This medal is awarded to Officer members who demonstrate great leadership ingame.

A mid-level award presented for sustained acts of heroism or meritorious service. Awarded by local commanders, allowing for a broad interpretation of the criteria for which the medal may be awarded. For actions where such performance was in direct contact with an enemy force, the Valor device ("V" device) is authorized as an attachment to the decoration. The U.S. Air Force began issuing its own Commendation Medal in 1958 with additional awards denoted by oak leaf clusters.

This medal is awarded to NCO members who demonstrate great leadership ingame.

The Silver Star

Awarded for gallantry in action against an enemy of the United States not justifying a higher award. It may be awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity with the U.S Armed Forces, distinguishes him or herself by extraordinary heroism involving one of the following actions: in action against an enemy of the United States; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force; while serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the United States is not a belligerent party. The required gallantry, while of a lesser degree than that required for award of the Distinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross or Air Force Cross, must nevertheless have been performed with marked distinction. Soldiers who received a citation for gallantry in action during World War I may apply to have the citation converted to the Silver Star Medal. The Silver Star Medal is the third highest military decoration that can be awarded to a member of the United States Armed Forces.

This medal is awarded to members who demonstrate great bravery ingame in the face of the enemy.

The Defense Distinguished Service Medal

Presented for exceptionally distinguished performance of duty contributing to national security or defense of the United States. The decoration is awarded only at the highest levels of the military while assigned to a joint activity. The medal may also be awarded to other senior officers whose direct and individual contributions to national security or defense are recognized as being so exceptional in scope and value as to be equivalent to contributions normally associated with positions encompassing broader responsibilities. It is the United States's highest peacetime defense award. Normally, such responsibilities deserving of the Defense Distinguished Service Medal are held by the most senior officers such as the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Chiefs and Vice Chiefs of the Services, and Commanders and Deputy Commanders of the Unified Commands whose duties bring them into direct contact with the Secretary of Defense and other senior officials. This decoration takes precedence over the Distinguished Service Medals of the separate services and is not to be awarded to any individual for a period of service for which an Army, Navy, Air Force or Coast Guard Distinguished Service Medal is awarded.

This medal is awarded to members who contribute greatly to the adminisration and organisation of the Clan.

Awarded to members of the U.S. Air Force who, after March 24, 1999, supported a significant U.S. military operation designated by the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force as qualifying for the award. To be eligible for the Air and Space Campaign Medal a service member must perform direct support of a military operation for at least 30 consecutive days or for 60 non-consecutive days. "Direct support" is defined as deploying in support of an Air and Space Campaign approved operation or if performing functions at home station or from outside the geographic area of combat which historically were deployed forward, or entirely new and future missions, which due to technological advances are no longer constrained by geographic location. Qualifying operations include: Operations Allied Force (24 March – 10 June 1999), Joint Guardian (11 June 1999 – date to be determined), Allied Harbour (4 April – 1 September 1999), Sustain Hope/Shining Hope (4 April – 10 July 1999), Noble Anvil (24 March – 20 July 1999), and Kosovo Task Forces Hawk (5 April – 24 June 1999), Saber (31 March – 8 July 1999), Falcon (11 June 1999 – DTBD), and Hunter (1 April – 1 November 1999). Members who provided direct support for 30 consecutive or 60 nonconsecutive days to one of these operations, at home-station, or from outside of the geographic area of combat qualify for the award. The award is only authorized to Air Force personnel and is prohibited for issuance if another campaign or service medal has already been received for the operation in question. Additional decorations are denoted by service stars.

Awarded to anyone who serves on active duty in the United States military during a designated time period. In the fifty years since the creation of the National Defense Service Medal, it has been authorized for the following time periods; June 27, 1950 to July 27, 1954 for service during the Korean War; January 1, 1961 to August 14, 1974 for service during the Vietnam War; August 2, 1990 to November 30, 1995 for service during the Gulf War; September 11, 2001 to a date yet-to-be-determined for service during the War on Terrorism. For service in the Gulf War and War on Terrorism, it is also authorized for members of the military reserve provided they are a “military reservist in good standing.” The National Defense Service Medal is further authorized to students at the service academies, but is not granted to discharged or retired veterans who did not serve in one of the above time periods. The decoration is also not authorized to members of the inactive reserve. The award was intended to be a “blanket campaign medal” issued to any member of the United States military who served in a designated time period of which a “national emergency” had been declared. As of 2005, it is the oldest service medal which is still issued to the active military..

This medal is awarded to the member who consistently excels in mining, gathering resources, and/or generally working very hard for the benefit of the clan as a whole.

The Bronze Star

Lord Clan Badges, Medals and Ribbons TheBronzeStar
Lord Clan Badges, Medals and Ribbons BronzeStarRibbon

A U.S. Armed Forces individual military decoration and the fourth-highest award for bravery, heroism or meritorious service. Awarded to a member of the military who, while serving in or with the military of the United States after December 6, 1941, distinguished him or herself by heroic or meritorious achievement or service, not involving participation in aerial flight, while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force; or while serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the United States is not a belligerent party. Awards may be made for acts of heroism, performed under circumstances described above, which are of lesser degree than required for the award of the Silver Star. Awards may also be made to recognize single acts of merit or meritorious service. The required achievement or service while of lesser degree than that required for the award of the Legion of Merit must nevertheless have been meritorious and accomplished with distinction. To be eligible for the Bronze Star Medal, a military member must be getting hostile fire/imminent danger pay, during the event for which the medal is to be awarded. The Bronze Star Medal is typically referred to by its full name (including the word "Medal") to differentiate the decoration from bronze service stars which are worn on campaign medals and service awards.
